A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of participating in the roundtable “A prueba de sesgos: Género e IA en el mundo del trabajo” (Bias-Tested: Gender and AI in the World of Work), hosted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, under the leadership of Yolanda Díaz, the Second Vice President of the Government of Spain.
The roundtable was part of an international summit, “El poder del trabajo en tiempos de algoritmos: Reinventando el empleo digno,” a two-day event exploring the critical intersection of labor rights and emerging AI technologies. Moderated by writer Elizabeth Duval, our roundtable featured ethical AI consultant Catharina Doria, Lucía Ortiz de Zárate from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and technology researcher Olivia Blanchard. Together, we focused on assessing and mitigating gender bias within AI technologies–and, of course, had quite a bit of fun doing it.

You can watch the full round table discussion (and the complete event!) here (ES) and here (EN interpreting)
